Rep on the Road - Betsy Westman, By Land & Air

Betsy wearing the Moroka sweater in Adelaide

Northern California/North Nevada is a large, rugged territory, so it's a good thing that our sales rep there is accustomed to travel. Weekdays, Betsy Westman brings Classic Elite Yarns to shops from  Monterey to Eureka, Sacramento to Petaluma and Reno to Minden.

Then on weekends, she's a flight attendant with Virgin America! Is it obvious that she loves to travel?!

California Redwoods (L), Old Town Eureka (Top),  Califorrnia is our nation's veggie bowl (Bottom).

Betsy has a long history in the yarn industry. A sales rep for ten years, her mom owned a yarn shop years prior. Betsy worked with her mom purchasing yarns for the shop. A lifelong knitter, she has also designed for major magazines and yarn companies and even worked as a model for yarn companies.

These days, the call of the road has diminished just a bit with the birth of a new grandchild. Look at this sweet, pumpkin of a baby!

But Betsy's love of yarn & knitting, yarn shops & and the people who love them is too strong to keep her from bringing the best yarns to shops in the Golden and Silver States!

It's National Mad Hatter Day!

It's true! October 6 is National Mad Hatter Day. Check out the Mad Hatter's hat if you want to know why.

Mad Hatter Day means you can be silly and just have fun. But for me it is an opportunity to show you all the FREE HAT PATTERNS that Classic Elite Yarns have to offer.

We offer MORE THAN 50 FREE HAT PATTERNS on Ravelry. From fingering weight through bulky, with fair isle, faux fair isle, garter stitch and stripes, knit in the round or flat -- with pom pom or not. For baby and men and you and me!

Here are three of my absolute favorites!

The Arietta Cable Hat -- knit in our new this season yarn Arietta -- makes the most of the yak & merino blend yarn.  I love the perfectly round cables -- down the rabbit hole anyone?

The Eyelet Swirl Hats in Liberty Wool Light are a quick, colorful knit in this self-striping, washable yarn.

The Snowflower Hat in sparkly Ava and fluffy Fresco is my absolute fave. I adore the easy, fat snowflower motif and pom pom. Yummy. I'll be casting on for one of these today.

I'll take that as a compliment and hope you'll go "entirely bonkers" downloading our free hat patterns!

Happy Mad Hatter Day.
